Drdisque, any chance you can take a look at my edits on Rahal-Hogan RH-001? I checked all the facts on there against the various yearbooks and reliable sources and made some corrections/rewrites. I don't have a lot of experience making significant edits, so I would appreciate a second opinion before removing the "citations needed" banner. Reaching out to you since you had voted to keep the article in 2016. Thanks! Checkpoint10 (talk) 19:30, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Drdisque, Please disregard the following request, except as notification of the reason for the page move. I was able to make the move myself. Thank you so much again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.243.237.133 (talk) 11:59, 5 January 2015 (UTC) Thank you for a great start on RC Enerson's Wikipedia entry. Could you please move the page to reflect the correct spelling of his name? RC Enerson never goes by R.C.. I entered a technical request here: https://wiki.alquds.edu/?query=Wikipedia:Requested_moves/Technical_requests#Uncontroversial_technical_requests , but I keep getting an error message that claims that R.C. Enerson page wasn't yet created. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TracySays (talkcontribs) 14:40, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

WRT Brandeis ZBT "chapter": ZBT does not get to decide what carries the "Brandeis" name. Brandeis does and they have decided that ZBT can't use it. As a compromise, how about carrying this entry with an asterix indicating that "Brandeis neither permits nor recgonizes fraternities?"

Dear Drdisque,

The following sentence was removed from the Career Section because its redundant information. Its clearly stated in the Racing Record Section and is not necessary to clutter the Career Section. Thank you for your cooperation.

"Younessi ultimately only made two race starts, at the season opener in St. Petersburg and in June in Detroit."

Chong Chon Gang article - Category deletion[edit]

Hi. Regarding your removal of the International sanctions, Embargoes, and Blockades categories from the article; the Chong Chon Gang has been involved in sanctions busting and evading arms embargoes, effectively acting as a blockade runner through and around various efforts to enforce self same sanctions and embargoes. So why should the above categories not apply? Thanks. 83.70.243.45 (talk) 18:39, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, wouldn't the Chong Chon Gang be suitable for inclusion in Category:Smuggling as a modern day smuggling ship? 83.70.243.45 (talk) 18:46, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In reponse to reply:

Fair enough. I had wondered about putting it under the Arms trafficking subcategory, but it seems that she was involved in more than just smuggling of weapons. But I'll put her there for the moment. Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Charles Hall (racing driver) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 18:32, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article Feedback Tool update[edit]

Hey Drdisque. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.

We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 22:02, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

March 2014[edit]

Drdisque,

Regarding the Shannon McIntosh page, if you're going to contribute to that page, please do some more research to cite that Shannon McIntosh's career started in 1995 and is a lot more extensive than you choose to make it appear.

Also, stating "last among all full-time competitors" is being removed because it is unnecessary.

Please be fair in doing the research and contributing to more than just 2 years (out of 19) where Shannon competed in a racing series unfamiliar to her oval racing background where she saw a lot of success.

Information icon Hi Drdisque. Thank you for your work on patrolling new pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for Hudsonville Christian School, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. WP:A7 does not apply to educational institutions Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers and review the criteria for speedy deletion. Orphaned non-free image File:SunAirIntlLogo.png[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:SunAirIntlLogo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 14:44, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Christophe Tinseau[edit]

The article Christophe Tinseau has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced BLP

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Mike Wallace re-dabbed - why?[edit]

Hello.

What is your problem with my edit of List of Zeta Beta Tau brothers? Why do you keep re-dabbing Mike Wallace? He's the WP:PRIMARY, and so links to his page do not need to be dabbed.

Also, per WP:MOSCAPS, Wikipedia avoids unnecessary capitalization. It is actually the very first sentence in the guideline.

Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines mentioned, and stop your blind reverts of perfectly constuctive edits just because they're done by an IP.

Thank you.

Ed Jones Nationality[edit]

There is no need for your needlessly aggressive tone with respect to my edit of the 2016 Indy Lights page. This is a perfectly legitimate change. Firstly, it is consistent with Ed Jones' current wikipedia-listed nationality. Secondly, he is listed as British on the official Indy Car website (http://www.indylights.com/teams-drivers/current-drivers/edward-jones), self identifies as British on his Twitter page (https://twitter.com/edjonesracing) and is a member of the BRDC (http://www.brdc.co.uk/Edward-Jones), which is only open to UK and Commonwealth citizens (of which the UAE is not a member). This is evidently a topic of confusion. Rather than trying to bully your way round Wikipedia, why not be a bit more constructive? I am going to change his nationality to a joint one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JamesAnders123 (talkcontribs) 19:36, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Steve Bren[edit]

Dr. Disque,

This is in response to recent postings at: https://wiki.alquds.edu/?query=Steve_Bren

Thank you for providing information pertaining to Conflict of Interest (COI) guidelines on Wikipedia. After a thorough review of the guidelines, I would like to provide some clarification:

I am the author of the material that was removed. Because of members of my family (professional drivers), I am nothing more than an enthusiast of professional (and amateur) racing. I have no personal OR professional relationship with Mr. Bren. However, I was afforded temporary access (via phone and third party) to Mr. Bren only for confirming timelines and details. No monies or gifts were received in trade for my posting. Accordingly, I have several questions in this case:

• How exactly was the post in question a violation of COI? • Why was the material removed before verifying whether it was, in fact, a violation? • Instead of erasing the author’s efforts altogether, why weren’t alternate suggestions and/or corrections offered? • Can you please re-post the material that was deleted? • How can I avoid this type of response with future postings?

Thank you for your time and attention on this matter. I look forward to an open and free dialogue with you.

Sincerely, Mrnagle (talk) 22:17, 27 October 2017 (UTC)Mrnagle[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Swamp buggy racing[edit]

Hello, Drdisque. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Swamp buggy racing".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 00:29, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Lobstermen: Jeopardy at Sea has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Could only find directory listings and passing mentions

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I saw you removed the PROD tag, which is fine, but I don't follow your reasoning. WP:NMOTORSPORT received a slight change past year, and there's no criteria where Indy Lights or Atlantic Championship fall under. Regards, Jovanmilic97 (talk) 15:48, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I added a reference that I believe meets WP:GNG. When you look at his total body of work, I don't think it's controversial to say that he is notable. Unfortunately it seems that a lot of contemporary coverage from the 2005 to 2009 time period when he was most well known has been lost. -Drdisque (talk) 15:53, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
