ARBIPA Discretionary sanctions notification[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have recently shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect: any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or any page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

You should know about this, since you have been editing in this area. Vanamonde (talk) 21:22, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Brother just cross check the facts who voted in favor of bill.[edit]

Hello, I have checked that you removed my references from J&K reorganisation bill 2019 where I added that 351 people voted in favor of bill and you’re claiming that 370 people voted in favor of bill. Just cross check the sources: I checked both Hindu and TOI; and find this. This is also example in which snap of voting is included:- https://www.firstpost.com/india/kashmir-news-live-updates-jammu-srinagar-ladakh-article-370-latest-updates-parliament-lok-sabha-passes-bifurcation-bill-resolution-to-end-special-status-centre-withdraws-reservation-bill-amit-shah-nar-7115471.html/amp

Kindly, edit misleading details and cross check the facts as soon as possible.

The figures you quote (351 to 72) were for the resolution to repeal Article 370. The figures I have quoted (slight mistake, should be 367 to 70) are for the passage of the Reorganisation Bill. Two different votes were taken with different results. The following article explains the votes taken = http://www.newsonair.com/News?title=Parliament-passes-Jammu-%26-Kashmir-reorganisation-Bill&id=369702 Cordyceps-Zombie (talk) 16:03, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Related to to a line on your talk page and WP:UPNOT[edit]

Hi. A line at the top of your talk page caught my attention - "Genocide is happening in Kashmir and the world deserves to know." This is a highly contentious and I can't understand why it is there. As per my talk at the teahouse related to how to approach this, I would request you to remove the line. Here i am placing a few Wikipedia policies to support my request such as WP:UPNOT, WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS, WP:INCONSIDERATE. I guess this is a borderline case as pointed out in the teahouse, but nevertheless I request you to remove that line unless some context is added or there is some concrete supportive material. Then again, why is such a contentious line like this needed here at all? Why is the word genocide needed? Hope to have a civil talk. DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 16:16, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I didn’t write that, an anonymous user posted it to my page in protest of my editing pages about J&K and Ladakh. I have tried to remain as objective and neutral in this whole process.Cordyceps-Zombie (talk) 17:37, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think there has been a misunderstanding regarding my edit of the article “Pahonia”. I meant no offence in using the word defaced. In vexillology, the study of flags, the word “defaced” is the correct term to use when a coat of arms or similar device is placed on an existing flag. Therefore I did not breach any NPOV policies as i did not use the word “defaced” in a derogatory manner, I was just using the correct technical term. See this article for more information defacement. June, 2021[edit]

Information icon
This is to inform you that your current edit in images section of List of Indian state flags, is inappropriate because of following reasons-

1)The transperency of images serve a better quality of content, (because the user has not to zoom out images for viewing them).
2)The Images you added are old and are of poor quality.
3)Wikipedia promotes use of .svg images rather than .png images, for serving better quality.
4)As for the improper references, the images are Subject to Indian Government, hence the images are captured only from the government Websites. (doesn't have anything to do with references)
Thanks!

Ashraf Ghani[edit]

Hey! I think that we were editing Ashraf Ghani at the same time and I ended up reversing your edits, to keep with a consensus that had been made on the talk page. I just wanted to say that this wasn't any sort of slight on your edits. In particular, you said that Ghani's presidency is disputed, so if you'd like to add anything about that back, so long as you use reliable sources, I'd be more than happy with that. FollowTheTortoise (talk) 20:28, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just to clarify: I'd be more than happy for you to write about Ghani being the disputed president in the article body. I think that to include that information in the first paragraph of the lede or the infobox would require a new consensus. I just wanted to say this to be on the safe side. Thanks! Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. The file File:Renew Europe logo.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Low quality JPG logo, replaced with SVG version and no longer used.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Azad Hind flag[edit]

Hi

The flag you used in the article Azad Hind was of Indian Legion (1942-1945), a regiment of the Nazi German Army which was set up by Bose. The flag of Azad Hind was that of INC adopted in 1931. It was a flag for Indian Independence Movement and was called Swaraj flag. In fact the seal of Azad Hind also contains the charkha which was based on the flag. Bose himself was the President of INC from 1938-1939, so it would be no surprise if he uses it's flag for Azad Hind.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Banglarmukh logo.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Banglarmukh logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Hello, Cordyceps-Zombie

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username FormalDude, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Kosovo at the 2022 European Championships, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|FormalDude}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Third Thaçi cabinet moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Third Thaçi cabinet, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution (third request)[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from United Nations Transitional Administration in East Timor into United Nations Administered East Timor. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 19:04, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Oskol (river), without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Wikiexplorationandhelping (talk) 14:03, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, but we do think it's acceptable, and indeed compulsory, to call a person by the name they use and wish to be called. Suella is clearly what she wishes to be called according to all her sites and media. Canterbury Tail talk 20:13, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
(ec) And with that, it's now indefinite. Suella Braverman goes by "Suella" on her UK Government site: [3], and in her social media. There is no misnaming here, and you can troll elsewhere. RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:15, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Her mother named after a character in her favourite soap opera. It is both racist and sexist for you to think that is a stupid idea to name your child after a soap character and to force your own racist moniker “Suella” onto this ethnic minority woman. TPA revoked. RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:17, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Whether or not the nickname "Suella" is racist or sexist (we don't seem to have any sources for that), it very much appears that Braverman fully agreed to use it in her political career. Canterbury Tail and RickinBaltimore are correct here, as far as I can see. Boud (talk) 17:14, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council logo.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://bkwac.in/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File source problem with File:APODETI logo.jpeg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:APODETI logo.jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Replaceable fair use File:Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council logo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council logo.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 09:00, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
