Hi[edit]

Hi, just wanted to thank you for your calligraphies, great work! 14:52, 1 May 2016 (UTC)CounterTime (talk)

Setting Wikipedia time to your time zone

Wikipedia's servers record activity based on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC for short). You can set your user preferences to display time for the time zone you are in.

If you do this, Wikipedia will show all times in Recent changes, page histories, and contribution histories based on your local time zone. However, when you sign a talk page with ~~~~, the timestamp is created in text, so it has to be displayed in UTC. Automated logs such as image file uploads are also shown in server time (UTC).

To show other users what time zone you are in, you could even add a time userbox to your own user page.

Help request for mapping section titles[edit]

Hi. We (the Research Team at Wikimedia Foundation) are building an algorithm that will align Wikipedia article sections across languages. For improving this algorithm we need the help of multilingual Wikipedia editors to provide true statements to the algorithm. You are contacted because based on your Babel template and/or content translation tool usage you know at least two of the following languages: ar (Arabic), fr (French), ja (Japanese), en (English), es (Spanish), ru (Russian).

(Note: by clicking the links in the following paragraph, you will be taken to Google spreadsheet.) If you'd like to help us with translating a subset of the section titles on or before 2018-05-15, please read and follow the instructions. If you see instructions in another language, please scroll down to find your preferred language. If you have questions about this message, you can contact us via Diego. Thank you! :) --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 15:58, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Hi, thank you with your work on cleaning up non-notable promotional articles between ar.wiki and en.wiki, and I apologize that some of our editors here didn’t look at the bigger picture and realize that there was a reason you were doing this. I’ve deleted several of the pages you tagged as they clearly fall within our A7 criteria. I did not delete Ahmad Albarqi or Shahad Alzahrani because I think they would be better served through our WP:PROD or WP:AFD process. Ibrahim.ID has used AfD before here when dealing with xwiki spam between ar.wiku and en.wiki so he may be able to help. If you ever need any help on en.wiki, feel free to reach out to me either directly on my talk page or through علاء, who I talk to quite frequently. Thanks again for your help. I can’t say how much we appreciate it. TonyBallioni (talk) 04:37, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

TonyBallioni Thank you alot for all of your efforts. --إسلام (talk) 13:35, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Manzoor Pashteen[edit]

Dear brother Islam, thanks for creating ar:منصور أحمد باشتين but I think the name has been missspelled there. His name is actually written as منظور, not منصور, so this article must be moved to new title "منظور باشتين". For example, see this Al Jazeera article where he is referred to as "منظور باشتين". Thanks, Khestwol (talk) 10:11, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

May 2023[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Abdul Qadir Gilani, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you.--Leopard72 (talk) 12:54, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
