User:Ned Scott
I live in Arizona, USA. My main focus on Wikipedia is working on articles about entertainment and fiction (particularly anime and science fiction, which is probably not a big surprise), though I do enjoy working on much more than just those kinds of articles. Lately I've been more active in meta space than in article space, focusing on discussions and technical features such as templates. I'm also very interested in applying some of the methodology of Wikipedia to other wikis around the internet, which lead me to start up WikiProject Transwiki.
Unfortunately my personal time is being consumed by some other stuff lately, and I'm not nearly as active as I once was. Don't let that stop you from leaving me a message or asking for assistance if you feel I can be of some help! I will always be a Wikipedian, and look forward to always having at least some level of contribution to this great project. I also plan on getting more active again to at least finish a number of projects/ideas that I've either had or was involved in.

Per WP:WHO/MOS#Terminology, the previous seasons/series of Doctor Who have been titled "Season #" for the classic era, and "Series #" for the revived era, noting the difference from when the programme moved from Season 26 to Series 1 upon the 2005 revival. This had lead up to Series 13 in 2021. According to interviews with the showrunner, as well as entries on the official Doctor Who websites, the numbering system is to be reset, to define a new "era". That is, what has previous been referred to as Series 14, will now be referred to as Season 1.
The questions are:
Note that if this article title is changed, this should reflect upon the following entries within the programme. -- Alex_21 TALK 07:51, 1 December 2023 (UTC) |

I want to re-open the debate on the reliability score given to the Daily Telegraph as a perennial source. It's currently on "Generally reliable". Epa101 (talk) 09:59, 24 November 2023 (UTC) |

The Agatha Christie novel Hallowe'en Party has been adapted for television, radio, and most recently in the film A Haunting in Venice. The film is the only adaptation with a standalone Wikipedia article. In accordance with MOS:INTRO, which says to summarize the most important points covered in an article, is it appropriate to mention the film in the lead? What should be done with emoji redirects, particularly with emoji redirects that are found to represent vague concepts that are not well reflected on Wikipedia? Note that the discussion only pertains to emojis that do not have their own pages (as in 😂 which links to Face with Tears of Joy emoji), in which case the redirect consensus is clear in that it should direct to the article. microbiologyMarcus (petri dish•growths) 17:43, 16 November 2023 (UTC) |
How should we spell the name of the subject in this article?

Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion
An ongoing DRV discussion brought up the question of whether the "sufficiently identical" language in CSD:G4 applies to pages deleted in AfD, and immediately recreated as a redirect by someone who wasn't pleased with the result of the AfD. Several editors believe that since the redirect page is different from the one deleted, any editor is welcome to recreate the deleted page, even if the "Redirect" option was brought up in the AfD and failed to reach consensus.
The options, as I see it, are:
To be clear, we are talking about a page recreated shortly (<30 days) after an AfD closed as Delete. Either way, there seems to be enough confusion about this to justify adding a sentence about recreation as a redirect to the language in CSD:G4. Would appreciate more views on the subject. Thank you! More sources are proposed to be included in Module:Find sources/templates/Find general sources. AP has been added as a result of #RfC_on_Module:Find_sources_-_replace_New_York_Times_with_Associated_Press.
also, currently the only 2 given news sources nyt and ap are both american organisations. by adding the 4 below, there will be 3 american vs 2 british and 1 global, which will be less usa-centric as a whole.--RZuo (talk) 15:19, 24 November 2023 (UTC) |

There has been a discussion on whether or not the ProPublic sources used in the "Nondisclosure of finances" section should be considered primary sources. Please see that section for arguments made for and against considering ProPublica as a primary source, and vote/comment below.
Option A: the ProPublica sources used in that section do constitute primary sources. Option B: the ProPublica sources used in that section do not constitute primary sources. Cortador (talk) 22:01, 18 November 2023 (UTC) |

Should we, or should we not, delete articles about species that are not properly accepted?
The context for this RfC is a number of recent AfD debates on deletion of articles about species that have been described, but whose names have never been properly accepted, for example Stomopteryx splendens. WP:SPECIES advises that we should keep articles on valid species, but it doesn't give any advice on what to do about non-valid species. Elemimele (talk) 18:23, 9 November 2023 (UTC) |
