Immersive Theatre

In immersive theatre audiences and performers occupy the same space. Immersive is currently a buzzword and is often being used incorrectly. The easiest way to clarify the definition, is to distinguish it from other forms that overlap. Site Specific theatre is similar, in that the location of the production is significant, but a play about a high school basketball team performed in a high school gym is site specific, but not immersive.
