  • The article meets DYK requirements and is free from close paraphrasing. A QPQ is done. Among the hook proposals, I think ALT1 and ALT2 are the best options (no particular preference here). ALT2 is verified and cited. ALT1 is also verified; however, the hook itself needs to be reworded. It implies that Brentford and FC Midtjylland have both won championships when in fact only FC Midtjylland did so; indeed, Brentford did not even win the Championship before it gained promotion. So ALT1 as currently reworded can't run. I'll give this the tick once the issues with ALT1 are sorted out. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 02:47, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
@Cielquiparle: Almost there. The article doesn't outright say that mathematical modelling was done "to win more football matches", but rather that the success of the two clubs can be credited to that. Maybe the hook should be modified to state that their success (not necessarily "more wins") was due to the modelling? Also, just a bit of a minor issue, but ALT1 and its variants don't mention that he's the owner, which seems odd to omit. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 06:33, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
@Narutolovehinata5: How about this? It's a different message but definitely stated in the article. (I tried different variations of "success" but it sounds boring...in the end there is no good simple generalisation for "helped one club gain promotion to the Premier League while the other club won three championships".)
@Narutolovehinata5: Any feedback on ALT1b? (No hurry, just thought of it because apparently Brentford beat Man City yesterday and are thrilled...) Cielquiparle (talk) 13:00, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
I'll take a look at this again within the next few days. I'm currently feeling some burnout due to real-life commitments and would like to take a breather from this nom first. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 13:06, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
  • We should be good to go with ALT1b or ALT2 (I'll leave the final choice to the promoter), as both hooks meet requirements and are verified. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 04:36, 15 November 2022 (UTC)
