Template:Admin dashboard/light

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  1. Frequently, some pages transcluding {{Admin dashboard}} are going on overflow and appear at Category:Pages_where_post-expand_include_size_is_exceeded.
This Template:Admin dashboard/light has been rewritten by including directly all the parts that were dispersed in so many sub-templates.
  2. The "leaks out boxes" error has been fixed.
  3. Pages RFPP and UNFAA are simply linked (i.e. not transcluded) when too busy

Current requests for increase in protection level[edit]

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Amphibia (TV series)[edit]

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. FilmandTVFan28 (talk) 19:26, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 6 months, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Indefinite semi-protection is not warranted at this point. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 01:59, 24 March 2023 (UTC)

Alexandre de Moraes[edit]

Indefinite pending changes: BLP policy violations – Controversial figure, we're seeing mass removals and readditions of sources. Paris1127 (talk) 20:11, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

Lewis Travis[edit]

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Continually getting vandalized. Lflin16 - Member of Recent Changes Patrol (talk) 20:13, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

Wanda Maximoff (Marvel Cinematic Universe)[edit]

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Maybe this would be a good one for Pending revisions protection? Article consistently vandalized by an IP hopping anon who brags in their edit summaries about how they will continue to engage in the disruptive behavior. Most recent rounds have been going on about a month. Millahnna (talk) 20:16, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

  • Stop x nuvola with clock.svg User(s) blocked. I partial-blocked a /44 range that appears to cover most of the vandalism from the last year. OhNoitsJamie Talk 20:59, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

2019 Canadian Parliament infiltration plot[edit]

Reason: High level of IP vandalism, similar edits from editors with <10 edits. Refusal to discuss on talk page. Darryl Kerrigan (talk) 20:54, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

The above editor is literally refusing to respond to any comments on the talk page of the article and has violated the 3RR rule a number of times now. I recommend administrators look at the POV of the posted article, it is mostly OR and unverifiable claims presented as fact. Partisan editing is a cancer on Wikipedia. (talk) 21:00, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
Second that this article is in need of semi-protection. The text is currently in a state of decay as the back-and-forth edits are occurring too rapidly to maintain content quality. ScienceMan123 (talk) 22:20, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Repeated linkspam efforts by various IP ranges and accounts. Domains vary and this is the only targeted page, so protection should probably be used over the spam blacklist. MrOllie (talk) 21:10, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

Srđan Jovanović (referee)[edit]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Made controversial call in England-Italy Euro Qualifier match. Already some vandalism. TartarTorte 21:30, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 1 week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Isabelle Belato 🏳‍🌈 01:24, 24 March 2023 (UTC)

Reason: High level of IP vandalism. RossButsy (talk) 22:20, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

Jeopardy! (British game show)[edit]

Indefinite full protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent vandalism from IP users lately. Page was last protected for this reason, and will most definitely continue if this isn't protected. BrickMaster02 (talk) 23:27, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – IPs and new accounts have not been editing constructively for a very long period of time with pending changes sometimes not working. Lightoil (talk) 01:15, 24 March 2023 (UTC)

Temporary pending changes: Persistent vandalism. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 01:27, 24 March 2023 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level[edit]

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Only post below if you receive no (favourable) reply.

  • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
  • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
  • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
  • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.

Check the rolling archive if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page[edit]

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

  • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
  • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{request edit}} template should be used.
  • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
  • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
  • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

User:Shadow's Alt[edit]

I am User:Shadow of the Starlit Sky (an autoconfirmed user)'s alternative account for security purposes (in case the main acc gets compromised/is put at a risk of getting compromised). I would like to have autoconfirmed rights on this account as well because not having these rights will bar me from doing certain types of edits that I often make with my main account. Reason for requesting confirmed rights

I am very interested in this site and I just want to help people learn new things. I think these permissions would be very helpful, and I have been a user of the site for years without an account. I know this is a big ask, but you can even see my edit history and maybe remove it if I make a mistake? I am sorry if I was rude or time wasting. YourLeastFavorite (talk) 14:55, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

File mover[edit]

User:Robertus Pius[edit]

I often upload files and I’ve made mistakes in the naming in the past and had to request for a name change so I’d like to have the perms for things I upload incase I make a mistake. I’d also love to help others who make mistakes in the naming. I scroll though uploaded images often and I’d definitely fix mistakes if I see them. ✠ Robertus Pius ✠ (TalkContribs) 02:22, 22 March 2023 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer[edit]

Although I spend a lot of time patrolling, PC protection is so rare that I've never really needed it until now. With one of the articles I heavily steward (Abu Lu'lu'a Firuz) now undergoing an experiment with PC, it would be good to be able to mark good-faith edits as reviewed. I have read Wikipedia:Reviewing pending changes, and I've been familiar with all the relevant policies for quite some time. ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 13:36, 21 March 2023 (UTC)

I patrol Special:RecentChanges where I find pending changes quite often and would like to work those too, even if they aren't vandalism (since I can rollback them already for that).

I have read WP:RPC and am familiar with WP:VD, WP:BLP, WP:CV, WP:NOT and more. 1AmNobody24 (talk) 15:28, 21 March 2023 (UTC)

User:The person who loves reading[edit]

I want to help Wikipedia review pending changes. I'm familiar with Vandalism, Biographies of living person, Neutral point of view, No original research, Verifiability, and Copyrights. I have already read Wikipedia:Reviewing pending changes and understand what reviewing process is. The person who loves reading (talk) 19:15, 22 March 2023 (UTC)

Done. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 05:49, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

Greetings. Since long I have been patrolling Special:RecentChanges where I find pending changes very frequently which badly needs to update and make corrections. So i would like to work those too. Everyday I spent huge time on Wikipedia. Moreover, I have read and understand as well as very much familiar with with Vandalism, Biographies of living person, Neutral point of view, Verifiability, and Copyrights. I hope you will consider my request on the ground of my experience, competence and dedication for Wikipedia. Thanks in advance. Hrksmp (talk) 22:38, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

I have made over 7000 edits, the majority of which are reverting vandalism, and I have uploaded a file, so I am familiar with copyright. The criterion #4 requirements, I have mastered. I have read everything I need to know for this user right and would love to add reviewing pending changes to my activities on Wikipedia. Roundishtc) 23:53, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

User:Arado Ar 196[edit]

I use Twinkle and Ultraviolet a lot (proof) and such tools work faster with rollback right, so I guess I need it to speed up anti-vandal work. a!rado🦈 (CT) 16:26, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

Not done Your responses to queries on your talk page, from both new and experienced editors, are very brusque. Patrollers need to be able communicate effectively; speed is not everything. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 17:03, 22 March 2023 (UTC)

Rollback will aid with quickly reverting obvious vandalism on articlespace, userspace, and Wiki-space. Having edited Wikipedia since 2006 and possessing a clean block log, I believe I possess the necessary judgment and self-discipline required to use rollback for counter-vandalism purposes.
