The palatalizing property of Ye is different from the pronunciation of Englisch yes. The letter Ye is pronounced [je] in Russian as in English yes only when it is not following a consonant that has a palatal variant, such as at the beginning of a word. Palatalization occurs only when the preceding consonant has a palatal variant, such as [n], that is transformed into[{{IPA|nʲ]], a sound similar to <ni> in the Englich word onion. Every article concerning the letters of the Cyrillic alphabet has to be renamed properly![edit]

The actual Cyrillic letter is, in my opinion, sufficient. That's the way the non-English articles preferred to go about it as well. I don't see why the Russian name of the letters should be favoured. They are not called the same in Serbian, Bulgarian etc. and the article is about the Cyrillic alphabet not the Russian one. It does need SERIOUS editing.

Ye with circumflex[edit]
