Future edit request: WordPress 5.6 description[edit]

When WordPress version 5.6 is added to the page, add the following description:

"New default theme "Twenty Twenty-One," Gutenberg enhancements, automatic updates for core releases, increased support for PHP 8, application passwords for REST API authentication, improved accessibility."^[1]

Can someone update the toolbox on the right side to 5.9.3?[edit]

I tried doing it but I did not do it correctly I guess. 5.9.3. came out April 5, 2022. MiroslavGlavic (talk) 22:23, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I just checked now...5.9.3 is showing. Woohoooooooooooooooooo.

If anyone knows how come the update was not right away? I was logged in...........I would be curious if anyone knows the answer.

Release dates are wrong?[edit]

2.0 December 31, 2005 according to Wikipedia WordPress.org says 2.0 September 24, 2007.

2.9 December 19, 2009 vs December 18, 2009

About the name[edit]

WordPress.org is mostly confused with WordPress.com, which as we know are two different services, then the best is to rename the article as WordPress.org. Machibito (talk) 01:27, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Machibito: Wordpress.org is a redirect to this page. There are only 13 visits through that redirect in the last 90 days, which may indicate that people aren't coming through the redirect (though inwiki searches for WordPress.org will show this article not the redirect). Additionally, the hatnotes on both pages should suffice in directing readers to the article they want. Given that this is a highly trafficked page, do open a requested move discussion if you wish to nominate the move. – robertsky (talk) 04:08, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
