[Untitled][edit]

This is the first Wikipedia page I've started and my first major edit. There are a couple things that I still plan to add or tweak when I have a few minutes, but I would love some feedback/corrections on style stuff in particular.

First and foremost, I couldn't figure out how to reuse references; you'll see at the bottom there are duplicates and triplicates of a couple articles.
There's a little bit of tense switching at times when it seemed appropriate, but I don't know if there's a Wikipedia guideline about it.
When citing sources, it seems like most Wikipedia articles just use a ref link instead of using the source's name (or instead of doing both). I tended towards using the names quite a bit. I know that use of (Ibid)s is not Wiki-friendly, but the frequency with which I say "Hosokawa" in here might be a bit much. When should you use a ref/footnote and that's it?

Very good start[edit]

This is a very good start for a first article.

The way you merge references is by adding names: <ref name=fred>stuff</ref>. All the refs with the same name will be merged into one ref. You can then use the shorthand form: <ref name=fred/> (note the trailing slash). See Wikipedia:Footnotes#Naming_a_ref_tag_so_it_can_be_used_more_than_once.
Something else that's helpful is:

<ref>{{cite web 
  | author = 
  | title = 
  | publisher = 
  | url = 
  | date = 
  | accessdate =  }}</ref>

Just fill in the fields (or leave e.g. author blank if the source doesn't name the author) and it will nicely format the ref. Sbowers3 (talk) 00:41, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
