Not sure where this information comes from. OK, so since many pages make the same error and a similar error was made with HLA pages. The receptor (a protein) is currently called TNF-R1. The protein is encoded by TNFRSF1A, and although it can be called this, that is a locus name, just like HLA-DRB1 is a locus name but the polypeptide is calle DR[beta]1 and is a part of the DR protein.

If you look at OMIM cd120 is not listed as a name. " TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR RECEPTOR 1; TNFR1 TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR-ALPHA RECEPTOR; TNFAR TNFR, 55-KD TNFR, 60-KD "

I cannot recall any publications in the last 5 years that use CD120, CD120A or CD120B. The pages name really should be TNF-R1, which is the product of the processed TNFRSF1A gene which can be redirected.

I looked at pubmed, only 4 papers use the term cd120. When I used TNF-R1, 447 articles showed up and TNFR1 produced 3350 articles. With TNFRSF1A 330 articles showed up (which may be dealing with the gene and gene linkage,so.....)

TNFR1 is the name that should be used. Tumor necrosis factor receptor 1. PB666 yap 03:06, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
