De Veil's Work[edit]

I'll have to add the years active, namely 1729-1746. I'm still not entirely sure how to structure this section, though: either I divide it in a before Bow Street/after Bow Street manner, or I divide it in general work/Wreathock Gang/Gin Act.

Hopefully, I'll solve this by tomorrow: for now, though, I'm stumped.

Suggestions[edit]

Hi, in the spirit of this week assignment (Offer suggestions) I read your article. You have done a good job, I really like it, perhaps you could add a few more information on De Veil' s job as a magistrate. I remember there is a chapter in Tales from the hunging court, have you seen it? Or you can also add an image of the building where he worked in Bow Street, in londonlives.org there are a few images (even a sort of caricature of de veil), you can start from there and find out about the copywrights etc. Hope to have been of some help. • Thank you, I was wondering what else I could do! I shall work on it as soon as possible, thank you very much! 858rine (talk) 17:13, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am actually running into a bit of a pickle trying to implement your suggestions, and would like to ask your advice. I did read Tales from the Hanging Court, and they do mention him: however, they do mention some very specific cases. I now don't know what to do: should I do a section with his most important cases? If so, should I go in depth, or should I keep it as a sort of list? 858rine (talk) 15:42, 22 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
