the Sheriff[edit]

this is not a widely known or used nickname for him . this should be removed from the intro paragraph. 2603:7000:6400:E058:650F:E0E6:EAC3:1B5F (talk) 04:14, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree that this nickname is not widely known, though it is known to have originated from Gruden and used primarily by him. 2603:900A:1500:8ACE:CAC5:EC88:EC30:FC23 (talk) 02:41, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please change "Helping lead both the Colts and Broncos to two Super Bowls each, Manning is the only quarterback to have multiple Super Bowl starts with more than one franchise" to "Helping lead both the Colts and Broncos to two Super Bowls each, Manning is one of only two quarterbacks to have multiple Super Bowl starts with more than one franchise (with Tom Brady)" Pointmeatthesky (talk) 14:00, 8 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done @Pointmeatthesky: Brady only started one Super Bowl for the Bucs. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 14:13, 8 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is extremely petty pedantics. Typical of Wikipedia. 184.187.143.8 (talk) 12:05, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Factually incorrect statement in the article[edit]

Referring to this line:

“Helping lead both the Colts and Broncos to two Super Bowls each, Manning is the only quarterback to have multiple Super Bowl starts with more than one franchise”

Manning is no longer the only QB to have multiple Super Bowl starts with more than one franchise nor the only one to win multiple Super Bowls with multiple franchises. Tom Brady won his seventh Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady’s second team. The passage should be either be removed or modified to read “the first,” not the “only”. 184.187.143.8 (talk) 12:03, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Under the Personal Life section, change the following sentence, "The show features segments with special guest stars from entertainment, politics, and sports while the Manning brothers watch the game." to the following: "The show features segments with special guest stars from entertainment, politics, and sports while the Manning brothers watch and commentate on the game."

I recommend this change because the former implies the Manning brothers are merely watching the game while doing other things (e.g. interviewing guests), but they actually also provide color commentary, especially when guests are not in air. 2603:900A:1500:8ACE:CAC5:EC88:EC30:FC23 (talk) 02:39, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why is there little to no mentions of his sexual assault and illegal drug trafficking scandals?[edit]

It looks like previous people have put forth substantial proposals to add information about these topics to the article multiple times, but they are still not added for some reason. Why? The proposal a few entries above in the talk page look just fine to me. 71.114.123.162 (talk) 18:32, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Article claims Manning is the only quarterback to start Super Bowls for multiple franchises. This is not true, he is one of four quarterbacks to achieve this. Source 23, which is attached to the mistake, confirms that Manning is one of four [1]. Also confirmed by the pro football hall of fame <ref https://www.profootballhof.com/news/2020/02/news-super-bowl-starting-qbs/ </ref> 66.253.139.26 (talk) 22:47, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

He is the only QB who has multiple Super Bowl starts for multiple teams. Two with Colts and two with Broncos. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 23:03, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think the wording (Manning is the only quarterback to have multiple Super Bowl starts with more than one franchise) can be misleading. Kurt Warner had multiple SB starts (2) for multiple franchises (STL and ARI). I reworded to Manning is the only quarterback to have reached the Super Bowl with multiple franchises with multiple starts for each. Incidentally, this seems a bit WP:ORish based on the exisiting citations, but it does seem true (with presumably more explicit sources available)—Bagumba (talk) 05:39, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
