Initial revisions/comments[edit]

Thanks for making this article, Kaylamoore99. I've taken the liberty to re-organize the page a little according to what is typically found for similar articles. Mostly I've moved the information that could be considered "historical background" towards the beginning of the article, and I've shortened the lead to include only the basic introductory materials. The section titles are initial suggestions and could be improved if needed. Some paragraphs will need better citations, so I will tag them accordingly; please add citations to support all significant statements and information. Some other general formatting fixes or clean-up may be needed.

We also need the images to be more directly relevant to the structure and perhaps more clearly captioned in terms of their relevance. (Most readers will typically assume the images they see are from the mausoleum, so it needs to be clear if they're not.) I'll also look if I can upload one of my own photographs of the mausoleum's exterior, although I've sadly never been able to go inside. R Prazeres (talk) 22:22, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Note: this page needs to be moved to "Mausoleum of Shajar al-Durr" to fix the uppercase "D", but I've just noticed that an incomplete draft of this article is already published under the same name (Mausoleum of Shajar al-Durr), but with the uppercase "D". I've nominated that page for speedy deletion in the hope that this is an easy way to resolve the issue and allow for this page to be moved; if not, then I'll try to figure out what the best process is. Quick update: Mausoleum of Shajar al-Durr has been blanked and redirected here. I'll list the requested move at uncontroversial technical requests. Hopefully no problem there. R Prazeres (talk) 17:01, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! we appreciate the imput, but this wikipedia page is for a school assignment, which we are actively working on completing (the only way our group can edit all together is if we publish the article). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marisgreen (talkcontribs) 05:02, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine, and this version was quite good actually. (There were some layout/format issues as I mentioned but those are easily fixed.) Presumably you don't plan to do anything else with the other page (Mausoleum of Shajar al-Durr) anyways? R Prazeres (talk) 05:26, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! We are working on polishing up the issues. You feedback is helpful. One of the group members accidentally uploaded the other page. To answer your question, we will not be using the incomplete draft. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fatemehebrahimi199 (talkcontribs) 06:07, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The page has now been moved to fix the uppercase. I've also revised the lead paragraph a bit for a more typical summary and I've added some more information from sources I had at hand to fill in some details. Feel free of course to keep revising. Thank you to everyone who helped create the page; this monument was overdue for its own article, and it was nice to see it created with a full description and reliable sources.
