On 17 May 2023, it was proposed that this article be moved from List of new islands to List of islands created since the 20th century. The result of the discussion was moved.

Title[edit]

There has to be a better way to title this...Res Mar 02:51, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps it should be renamed something like "Geologically created new islands" since the current title ("New islands") potentially implies the inclusion of man-made islands, such as those off the shores of Dubai. WolRon (talk) 05:50, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Floydian: Hey- are you still interested in this? I'm think that "New Island" on Dom João de Castro Bank that existed in the 1720's should be included on this list. Why not have a list of all new islands that date to the Holocene? If that's too much, how about all new islands during the course of recorded human history?
