I'd suggest that the introductory paragraph describes film magazines, but not film journals. Typically, the term journal describes a more academic publication than a magazine.

Also, the links need to be standardized so they point either to Wiki pages or external links.

Contrary to the belief of many contributors of standardization, uniformity and boredom are no keys to superior quality. If the links would only link to articles most of the references would have to be deleted. Conversely if the links would only lead to external sources a hopefully (slowly) evolving knowledge within about film journals would have to be excluded. This is yet another example how craving for uniformity leads to absurd consequences. 02/06

So, removing the links got me thinking... maybe we should use a table. Here's a brief example

For some reason, the URL information was removed in a past revision. I added the column and will add as many URLs as I can. Had to put the URL column at the end of the table to avoid messing up the contents. If anyone knows a better way to do this, please help. List includes "./ Film International", but magazine's website seems to indicate name is "Film International" ("." seems to be in use only as cover logo). Change listing to "Film International/ ."? List includes "24 Lies A Second .. Online journal ..". From looking at the website it seems to be an online-only journal (. no journals printed). Should this list include journals that are online-only? --[[User:|User:]] ([[User talk:|talk]]) 03:52, 12 October 2008 ()

Missing?[edit]

Among the magazines missing from the list, if anyone knows how to code them and wants to add them, here are some: Le Film français, Midi Minuit Fantastique, Studio magazine, Variety. Probably many more (and are movie fan magazines included in this list? Many old-time fan magazines probably have Wikipedia pages). Randy Kryn 17:18, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have now added Variety, Hollywood Reporter and Quigley Publishing journals and forerunners. There are more to add that can be found on the Media History Digital Library as well as Premiere. It seems strange that this list did not include any weekly periodicals until this edit.Sudiani (talk) 13:10, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
