Mangaitj, Eucalyptus gunii & Roper river alcoholic beverage[edit]

The mangaitj (beverage made from the flower heads of Xanthorrhoea spp.), the fermented beverage from the tree sap of Eucalyptus gunii and the beverage made at Roper River (from Pandanus spiralis) by the Aboriginal Australians are not mentioned. Both are fermented beverages made by soaking respectively the flower heads or the leaves during an extented period in water) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.243.190.151 (talk) 09:01, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gula[edit]

I have removed the reference to gula. It may be a fermented sugar drink, possibly from Malaysia, but I don't read Malay enough to figure this out. Currently the link redirects to "butane,". which contains no mention of gula.TychaBrahe (talk) 05:06, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Add section/mention of "moonshine"/ Poitín[edit]

Since these are unique styles not normally associated with traditionally made whiskey, perhaps they should be included as a subset. I think the reference to Neutral Grain Spirit is not enough because these liquors do have a flavor, despite their high alcohol content.

Vodka[edit]

The list had that as German. First of all the German spelling would be "Wodka" and that is for the imported liquor. Locally distilled potato based hard liquor is called "Kartoffelschnaps." https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kartoffelschnaps https://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=979&bih=297&ei=sbwfWoeFM4vXjwSYmILoBA&q=Kartoffelschnaps&oq=Kartoffelschnaps&gs_l=img.3..0j0i30k1.4466.18532.0.20321.27.16.5.6.6.0.217.2472.0j14j2.16.0....0...1ac.1.64.img..0.25.3035....0.I29IUuMsXT4 The North German designation is a bit complicated bacause "Klarer" and "Köm / Köhm" do not specify the original plant. Eiher grain or potato can be used. It just describes a clear hard liquor with lots of alcohol. --2600:1700:1C60:45E0:5538:451C:D08:A276 (talk) 08:11, 30 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
