Iran Hostage Crisis happened after the London embassy siege[edit]
The Iran hostage crisis happened in 1981 and therefore could not have been the inspiration for this event, as stated under Motives.Zen-in (talk) 16:35, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
- The Iran hostage crisis lasted for 444 days beginning in November 1979, so the American embassy in Tehran had been under siege for six months by the time the DRFLA stormed the Iranian embassy in London. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 08:03, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
NAM interviews[edit]
Copy/paste of material added in this edit
At the time of the siege the Director Special Forces was Peter de la Billiere [1] and in May 2020 the National Army Museum released two 2015 interviews with him, in which he outlines how the unit's domestic counter-terrorism role had been established prior to the 1980 siege and SAS-police co-operation and the political context of the 1980 siege.[2]
Corporal Robin Horsfall was interviewed in 2017 by the National Army Museum, in two parts describes their equipment, training and professionalism. Followed by the planning and undertaking of the siege being ended.[3]

Ownership of land and building[edit]
Who owns the land and building now? Was it part of the claims and counterclaims conference? Surely it makes no sense for the US to still own it and pay annual dues? Just curious. 2001:8003:A070:7F00:94:BE6E:B276:D146 (talk) 06:06, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
