Region 4 DVD[edit]

In the article it states "A complete series box set was released by Madman on June 24, 2009; this is still available." but this is incorrect. It has been out of print for several years. The citation given is way out of date. However, I have no sources to cite that the series is out of print in Region 4 other than searching the distributor's website (Madman) or searching Australia's largest DVD rertailer's site (JB Hi-Fi) [Citation needed] which, I believe, counts as "original research" and is not acceptable for Wikipedfia. End of production (1984-85) question[edit]

Does anyone have any sources explaining why production for this show ended when it was so successful? 47.176.71.114 (talk) 05:02, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A total lack of democracy. OK, fair enough, Skeletor if he discovered the secrets of Grayskull would have been able to rule Eternia and possible the whole universe, but by He-Man, the most violent man in the universe, preventing this from happening, we never got to know how a Skeletor-controlled world would have looked. Typical monarchy (yes monarchy as Price Adam is title). Why not give the citizens of Eternia the vote? I'd have chosen Skeletor over He-Man in a democratic election. --92.40.198.4 (talk) 11:12, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The movie ( the 1985 Filmation theatrical movie, not the 1987 live action ) and the Christmas Special added as specials, because they are part of the complete list of original Filmation He-Man features[edit]

Including the 1985 "He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword" theatrical movie and the 1985 primetime Christmas special "He-Man and She-Ra: A Christmas Special" because the list of original Filmation He-Man features from the original Filmation era isn't complete without them. The Wikipedia page for the episode list of the original Transformers animated series from the 1980s ( https://wiki.alquds.edu/?query=List_of_The_Transformers_episodes ) properly includes the animated feature film Transformers:The Movie, which was from the same production team and in the same continuity as the series. The same is true for the He-Man & She-ra Christmas special, in relation to their respective series. Anyone looking to Wikipedia for a complete list of original Filmation He-Man ( or She-ra ) content who did not already know about the feature film and the Christmas special, would be at a serious disadvantage if those two Filmation He-Man features (the two longest original era Filmation features to feature He-Man ) were not listed along with the regular episodes, in the same way that the Transformers animated feature film is (again, properly) included on the episode page and listing for that series.

The 1985 movie ( He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword ) and the Christmas special need to be listed on the page for a complete list of the series features.[edit]

As has been mentioned, the He-Man & She-Ra: A Christmas Special primetime special (which, as regards licensing, is licensed with the original He-Man & the masters of the universe show and licencing rights ) are part of the He-Man and the masters of the universe series continuity ( same production cast & crew et al ). While the same can be said of She-ra, and especially of episodes of She-ra that guest starred He-Man and other masters, that is still a different situation because those episodes are under the umbrella of the She-ra show. The movie and the Christmas episode, however, are equally extensions of both series. The movie was released in theaters with He-Man receiving top billing on the marque (i.e. "He-Man and She-ra... ) months before the She-ra show released. The Christmas special, again with He-Man receiving top listing in the very title, has no parallel in the She-ra series: it's a special which is equal parts an extension of both shows. One CANNOT have a complete listing of original Filmation He-Man features without including the movie and the Christmas episode ( especially since they are the two largest, longest, and best known single features of Filmation He-Man in the original era of the show ). Anyone looking for a complete listing of original Filmation He-Man episodes/features who comes to this wikipedia page for that complete listing would be missing the two largest productions in that original continuity (and production series) if those features are not listed.

Pages for the original Transformers cartoon series and for some other original series like The Smurfs, list such things as their movies and/or ( in the case of The Smurfs ) their Christmas specials right on the main page for the series. It should be no different here. No one looking for the full listing of He-Man programs produced by Filmation in the continuity of the original series should have to already know about the Christmas special, or have to look to other sources aside from this Wikipedia page about the original series to find out about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:14D:4102:C2D0:D1A7:5F51:C9C9:EEE6 (talk) 04:58, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
