Groups, formations etc[edit]

Understanding of Anglesey's complex geology is in the throes of change with recent re-survey and research. Arguably it was ever thus! Different reputable sources - depending upon when they were written and the stance of the authors - propose differing interpretations of assemblages and structures which all makes life difficult for the hapless Wikipedia editor. The Precambrian and Cambrian strata in particular have been parcelled up in different ways at different times as formations and groups, and even within individual reputable reference sites such as BGS, there are inconsistencies. Where referenced statements cannot be readily reconciled, it may well be useful to describe these inconsistencies anyway insofar as it helps shed light on the history of our understanding of the island's geological evolution. cheers Geopersona (talk) 08:34, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
