Source: Ref 1 in the article says:"...surrounded by ten war canoes. The Briton had come from even farther away. It belonged to ...Edward Parr, merchants of Liverpool..."

Overall: All but one sources are offline so I have to assume good faith on the hook and text. The available link is not plagiarized. I did a minor copy-edit, nothing major. Date of death inconsistent with years operated[edit]

"Parr was a member of the African Company of Merchants, he operated out of the Port of Liverpool between the years of 1750 and 1768."
