Overview[edit]

No discussion of petroleum?![edit]

This article says almost nothing about the economy of UAE. Most of the money comes from petroleum and petrochemical industries, none of which is detailed here. Are there any experts on this who can develop the topic? 164.67.237.80 (talk) 20:04, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Concur. It's part of the UAE economy and there's not enough info on it to support its own article. Ndunruh (talk) 02:22, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. --MoHasanie  Talk  12:03, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I too agree. Kotopoto (talk) 12:21, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Make it happen, the alternate title for a page is neither helpful nor useful. — billinghurst sDrewth 13:47, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dated and Amateurish Article[edit]

It is a dated and an amateurish article. There are hardly an links to reliable economic sources. The article relies on opinion pieces written by political newspapers (pointedly during the Arab Spring period when the UAE used to get flagged for supposedly its role). The article is hardly relevant to recent UAE economy figures and activities, a subject which it was supposed to cover. 212.86.38.231 (talk) 22:55, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I added a Clarify template in the lead, as two sources contradict each other as to the oil-dependent portion of economy. The sources are from 2011 and 2013. More reliable and more recent sources are needed. - - Prairieplant (talk) 01:05, 30 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Size of the economy (nominal GDP 2022 estimates)[edit]

If IMF data are used to go by, then the United Arab Emirates have the 5th largest economy after Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Israel. 197.184.177.205 (talk) 10:07, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Developing or developed[edit]

despite having the host of the tallest tower in the world, then why uae is still listed as developing country according to imf? Why uae is still listed as emerging economy despite having the city vibe reminiscent of america and euro countries? Please i hope anyone can understand my statement. 2404:8000:1027:85F6:5C73:58D:9D4A:C313 (talk) 03:55, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
