This letter by no means could be called "Dje"; Serbian cyrilic letter simply do not have names. This is total nonsense. Saigon from europe 21:11, 9 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

While this letter has no name in the Serbian language, this is an English wikipedia page and English speakers do name letters, even from alphabets for other languages. Coroboy (talk) 19:24, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Would someone please upload or link to an audio recording of this letter being spoken? It would be helpful for non-native speakers to understand how this differs from the "Je" that also appears in Cyrillic Alphabet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.87.127.237 (talk) 21:13, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ђ or Ћ ?[edit]

It seems to me that this article was written by people who can not distinguish Ђ from Ћ ! This is totally false article, because original Serbian alphabet does contain Ђ but no Ћ ! Vuk Karadzic didn't touch this letter, because it is written on some 1000 years old churches all over the Europe where Serbs have lived ! 8000 years old Vinca scripture contains 22 original modern today's Serbian letters that is the base of Srbica, called Cyrillic, by Vatican's manipualtors who hide the Serbian Culture and Glory from you. Please, Wikipedia, HELP TRUTH SHINE OVER SRBICA and Serbian calendar that is in Years 8526 (not 2017) ! Genetic studies confirm that Serbs are the oldest European people too ! Stop manipulators, please ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.227.244.217 (talk) 13:06, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The original Cyrillic alphabet contains the letter Ꙉ (đerv), corresponding to Glagolitic ⰼ, not Ђ or Ћ. Vuk Karadžic himself asked for ideas on how to represent the sound đ; at first he used ДЬ, and later he adopted the symbol Ђ which Lukijan Mušicki designed. Lukijan Mušicki was an Orthodox bishop, so your idea that this is "Vatican's manipulators" makes no sense. Vinča script has nothing to do with Cyrillic or Serbs, it was used thousands of years before the Slavs migrated to the Balkans. Frankly, this kind of nationalist conspiracy-mongering is embarrassing.
