Untitled[edit]

This is vague: "Such candor and criticism came as a shock to some in Academia, who felt Johnson violated an unspoken taboo against criticizing another writer of color." It seems also to suggest misleadingly that such a thing never happened.

Added lots of sources[edit]

Hey out there--I just happened upon this page and saw that it needed more citations, so I added a bunch and cleaned things up. I'm not sure I did enough to merit removal of the notice at the top of the page, so I have left it there for someone more experienced than me to make a determination. Suggested page move[edit]

As the sources listed almost all refer to him without the middle initial, and as the credit on his novels, probably the biggest source of his renown, is also without the middle initial, it seems to me that under WP:COMMONNAME, this article should be moved. Excellent Interview[edit]

Mr. Johnson gives an insightful interview in Studs Terkel's 1992 book titled, Race. I have been reading this book on and off for several years and find myself reading his interview yet again.
