Specs of current versions[edit]

multiple clients to run simultaneously[edit]

Is there a client or configuration that allows multiple clients to run simultaneously (each using its own network) to download/upload for one torrent file (making the download faster at the expense of extra bandwidth and connections)? -- Zondor 07:39, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Searching for .torrent files[edit]

The formulation is indeed ab bit confusing. The client can´t search for .torrent files, but it can search for files in the .torrent and only download some of them. For example, if in a .torrent are included two CDs, you can only download one of them. --Gronau 22:29, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Icon vs. Screenshot[edit]

Screenshots[edit]

Should we keep the screenshots up to date with the version? It would probably make it look better, and we could probably make the previous versions a separate article under history of bittorrent (client) or list of bittorrent (client) versions. A BitTorrent client is a computer program that is used to download and upload files via the BitTorrent protocol.

I agree. The article should be about BitTorrent clients in general, including the official BitTorrent client. It should elaborate on the ability for any party to implement the protocol and should mention the major torrent clients. It would be appropriate to show the market saturation of all clients. Note the WP page for Azureus links to this page in the context of 'being a BitTorrent client'. BitTorrent cryptocurrency[edit]

I just discovered that μTorrent now comes with its own cryptocurrency "BTT". You earn BTT tokens when you upload, and you pay tokens when you download. It seems they intend to add the same functionality to the mainline BitTorrent client. See more about this at the μTorrent talkpage.

My understanding was that circa 6.0 bt was a utorrent reskin and both were made by the same group. Was that still the case when the BTT update happened? versions[edit]

version 5.0 installer uses the same workflow as 4.26.0's installer: no EULA and no reference to the bittorrent license. 4.26.0 isn't listed in the article but it falls between versions that are & that are under the BOSL. Plausible that 5.0 (and, potentially other 5.* releases) also BOSL but not sure how to verify or if that is necessary. Nyuuposting (talk) 23:40, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
