Template, Discography, etc.[edit]

I decided to go an make a template for Aventura. The discography makes up a majority of the pages related to Aventura. Pages about the members are completely non-existent so someone has to create them. I don't know much about Aventura, i really only listen to the music. Removal of unsourced info[edit]

I removed a large portion of the article due to lack of sources and the quality of how it was written. I will be working on it for a couple of days but I will also need help from users who know what their doing and know how to cite sources! Artystyk386 (talk) 17:59, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello to somebody, I enter to this page because I want to share some informations about the dominican group Aventura , I can see that some people edit this page but that really don't know the real story of Aventura group, I want to start a friendly discussion about aventura, I start seing that Aventura group is a dominican group because he was discovered , created, and suppoted since early years by dominican people, they become famous also by dominican people, and also, this group is dominican , because the name Aventura and the right of the group belong to the dominican record label Premiun Latin Music, and its president Franklyn Romero, if the Aventura boys decide to leave premiun Latin music, they can't the name Aventura , they have to change the name, and the dominican record label has the rihgt to keep Aventura name , and created another group with Aventura name , for reason and others reasons , Aventura is a dominican group, aso , I sow that the category Dominican group Aventura was removed, also the category , Dominican Republic Musical group, and I ask myself , many people editing Aventura article and her 4 integrants , but they don't realyy know the real Aventura story, now I am going to post a little report in Spanish , where you can see who is the owner and created of Aventura group, I know some people right here don't speak Spanish , but in this writing I explained that the Spanish report says, I hope somebody here understand my point and who removed the 2 dominican categories to the dominican group Aventura, please can you add again, tank you , I appreciate you cooperation

Grupo Aventura cambiara de nombre sera K.O.B., pero podria terminar en los tribunales con Franklyn Romero, presidente de Premiun Latin Music. De acuerdo a la fuente todo esta listo para anunciar al mundo el cambio de nombre y quedara integro el grupo, perodejando fuera el creador de Aventura, el empresario Franklyn Romero presidentede la disquera dominicana Premiun Latin Music. Si cada uno coge por su lado y hagan lo que quieran , asi yo tendria la opcion de sacar otro grupo con el nombre de Aventura. y la nota termina , ojala que sigamn juntos, porque de materializarse la information dada a Martillo y clavos, los integrantes del grupo Aventura estarian cocinando un despelote juridico porque violentarian normas establecidasque podrian terminar en los tribunales internacionales.

Another reference of the report http://www.elcorillord.com/category/noticias-de-bachata How you can read amigo, in this report say very clear that the President of Premiun Latin Music, Franklyn Romero , is the owner of the name Aventura and the right of the group Aventura, the Aventura boys are not owner of the Aventura name, if they decide to leave the dominican record label Premiun Latin Music, they can't use Aventura name , because Aventura name legally belong to Premiun Latin Music and the President Franklyn Romero, for this razon The dominican group Aventura is dominican , and Premiun Latin Music can form another group if the current integrants decide sign wiht another diferent record label. Change to Aventura's wikipedia page[edit]

Anthony Romeo Santos is Dominican and Puerto Rican and the rest of the members are Dominican. Therefore, the musical group is Dominican-Puerto Rican or Latin-American. Not Dominican-American.

Santos' article lists him as American. Furthermore, the musical influence as per the article and rest of the group are Dominican; hence why that is listed. Additionally, please remember to sign your posts with four tildes. Entiendes? --Morenooso (talk) 22:08, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Next time, you could say it in a nicer way. Aventura is Dominican-Puerto Rican. I am Latino and they come from my country, I think i would know this information more than you. "Dominican-Puerto Rican"? On what account? Yes, they are of Dominican ancestry: but three of the four members are American-born and -bred, and the group was formed and is based in their native NYC. Your disregard of their American nationality in favor of classifying them solely by their ethnicity is ethnic determinism or something like that. You may come from their country but Wikipedia is editted based upon WP:V and its guidelines as per MOS:BIO. WP:LEAD pretty well spells out that only the most important information is presented in the lead paragraph. When all three guidelines are combined, what their article presently reads is the only nationalities allowed. BTW, I am Latino though but I park my ethnicity at the door because WP:NPOV requires that this wiki be editted without POV issues. --Morenooso (talk) 05:51, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I should add that their style of music, bachata, is why they have dual nationalities - the music is Dominican styled/influenced. Otherwise, MOS:BIO and WP:LEAD would force the lead paragraph to read just American. That is why they are listed as Dominican-American. Actually, the fact that the music is Dominican should not figure into it. If they chose to sing Chinese rhythms their nationality wouldn't change all of a sudden, nor is a singer in India an American if they sing rock. :)
They're included as Dominicans because both they and the Dominican Republic make a really big deal of their Dominicanness, and they receive awards in the DR, and in general it can be said that group and country have embraced each other, as Minie never ceases to tell me. I'm of the view that it should only say that they're American, but in light of the foregoing facts, and in the probably vain hope that Minie's disruption would cease, I recently changed it to Dominican-American. I personally, Marti Cuevas, am the reliable first-hand source. I am the General Manager of Premium and have been since 2003, prior to the Sony distribution deal when Premium independently distributed its own catalog.

As an independent editor, who has this article on Watch, I was asked to review this request. Unfortunately for whoever made it, all the information on Wikipedia contradicts the above statement. If you are indeed who you say you are and can provide accturate and true information to Wikipedia's Foundation, then please use the Contact Wikipedia link to the left or click on the hyperlink just prior to these words to find the best method of contacting the Foundation. I don't think contacting the Wikimedia Foundation is the best course of action in this case. If there is a contradiction, then reliable sources should be found to show which is correct and the incorrect parts should be removed. Hope this helps. The request to the Foundation makes perfect sense. In case, anyone missed it, the requester claimed to be the "GM" and "reliable first-hand source". As the "GM", he has a WP:COI. Well, in order for Premiumlatin to prove who they say they are, they only need to identify themselves to the Wikimedia Foundation as decribed here.
