Article title[edit]

Should the title of this article be "AMT Automag" , as opposed to just "Automag"?

AMT reffers only to the late units built my Arcadia Machine and Tool.

Is this only to distinguish it from the article about the paintball gun of the same name?

If someone were looking for general Automag information about the earlier "Pasadena" and "Hollywood" Automags, they might miss this.

Massive clean-up required.[edit]

This article has no sources for any of the highly specific information stated, and has some serious problems with non-NPOV and OR. I've removed the worst of the non-NPOV and OR stuff, but this article needs a lot of work to bring it up to encyclopaedic standards. Wibbble 05:45, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PR?[edit]

Wasn't this one of the most powerful handguns of the time, or was that just PR? It certainly seemed to pop up in a lot of late-'70s fiction (Dirty Harry & Death Wish movies, as well as 'The Executioner' series of adventure novels and DC Comics' 'Warlord' series).Rickremember (talk) 19:49, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

According to this website [1] it was very powerful compared to guns around at the time; there weren't any desert eagles and apparently the only handgun with similar power was a Smith & Wesson revolver. The barrel shown is the original 6.5" .44AMP piece. I have several others. Such as the .357AMP, .41JMP, .45WinMag in various lengths from 6.5" to 10.5"; if they are of interest. The grips are custom "Duane Short's". I'd have to check with Bruce Stark to convert the serial number to a build date. Absolutely, the more the merrier. They can all go on Commons, even if they don't end up here. Here, I'd like a double of the factory & .308 brass, upright & bases (anything of surplus .30-'06?), & a shot of the .357. If you've got a .44 with the factory grips, better still. (It'd be the most representative.) If we add the .45WM or .30M1C, I think we need to broaden the page. Also, any other pix you've got, of anything, put 'em up on Commons. We can always use 'em. Thx for the help.

Norma ammunition[edit]

The article states that Norma manufactured only empty cases. This is incorrect. I own two boxes of finished Norma .44 AMP ammunition that I purchased in a sporting goods store in the 1980s.
