Disambiguation of links[edit]

Hello, I was working on disambiguation of links concerning the two varieties of "Christian Brothers". I presume that the first reference to "Christian Brothers" on the page is also referring to Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and not the other lot; could someone confirm that this is the case and we can then either unlink the first reference or pipe directly to the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools article. I'll watch this page for a response. Thanks. Politepunk 20:03, 15 March 2006 (UTC) |*Resolved Politepunk 09:49, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

First line needs corrections[edit]

'Rummel is a high school for young men in the Roman Catholic tradition; Rummel is owned by the Archdiocese of New Orleans and administered and staffed by lay and religious personnel.'

It is a fact that Rummel has accepted students of many religions (including Judaism, Atheism, Sikhism, and Islam), and I know personally from experience that not all teachers are Roman Catholic.

I changed the above to read: "Rummel is a high school dedicated to educating young men in the Roman Catholic tradition..." My son attends a Catholic High school and yes non-catholic students do attend. I'd say it is still accurate however, to say the school is run in the Roman Catholic tradition. The fact that non-catholics may also attend could certainly be added somewhere to the article but I found little support for it at the school's website., which states:

"Archbishop Rummel High School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs"

And also:

"Admissions preference in the eighth grade and freshman year is given to Catholics, students currently in parochial schools or religious education programs, siblings of current students or alumni, and children of alumni."

I have no objection to anyone else adding religious demographics to the article. Overall this seems to be one of the best done High School articles I've seen and the school looks to be outstanding as well. Dan D. Ric 21:18, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When I went to rummel, the website was also designed and maintained by the students. I do not know if that is still the case but it might be worth mentioning. Megastealer 03:02, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

While the article needs clean-up, notability is clearly established and I have removed the PROD TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 03:08, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notable alumni section[edit]

I removed Corey Avrard and Eric Schmidt, MD from the noatble alumni section because they do not have their own Wikipedia articles which is required to establish notability. This is the information I removed: Corey Avrard '94 -- St. Louis Cardinals Pitcher[1] and * Eric Schmidt, MD '99 -- Ophthalmologist, St. Louis
