WikiProject Ancient Egypt to-do list:
  • Needed articles.

We should have an article on every pyramid and every nome in Ancient Egypt. I'm sure the rest of us can think of other articles we should have.

  • Cleanup.

To start with, most of the general history articles badly need attention. And I'm told that at least some of the dynasty articles need work. Any other candidates?

  • Standardize the Chronology.

A boring task, but the benefit of doing it is that you can set the dates !(e.g., why say Khufu lived 2589-2566? As long as you keep the length of his reign correct, or cite a respected source, you can date it 2590-2567 or 2585-2563)

  • Stub sorting

Anyone? I consider this probably the most unimportant of tasks on Wikipedia, but if you believe it needs to be done . . .

  • Data sorting.

This is a project I'd like to take on some day, & could be applied to more of Wikipedia than just Ancient Egypt. Take one of the standard authorities of history or culture -- Herotodus, the Elder Pliny, the writings of Breasted or Kenneth Kitchen, & see if you can't smoothly merge quotations or information into relevant articles. Probably a good exercise for someone who owns one of those impressive texts, yet can't get access to a research library.

For more than one year this article has hardly been renewed with anything profound, nor does the current article have any special appealing message or enlightenment. This article is pretty far from current events nor is it a shining example of a wiki standard article. Yet this article suffers from non-stop vandalism, - actually it is near the only edit going on, on this article for more than one year. ???? Because of the consistency I can only imagine that is 1-2 max 3 persons doing it over and over again. It is noting wild, but is steady and consistent. There is not a month that does not have its 5 rv or more. My proposal is to permanent lock this article for anonymous edit, and instant permanent ban any new user that vandalise this page. This article is never going to be anything reliable, with these, excuse me, idiots, every 2nd day vandalising it. Just my 2 –cent. Twthmoses 01:02, 2 December 2006 (UTC)Reply[reply]

needs improvement[edit]

This article needs serious work. A lot of unsited information. And a large part of it is old-fashioned in tone. What the article should do is serve as an organizatinal map for other more specific articles. Brosi 14:20, 19 December 2006 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

This page has been vandalised im am going to revert to the previous version but i think we should lock the article for editing from the general public —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Loosen Up (talkcontribs) 06:05, 10 May 2007 (UTC).Reply[reply]

Britannica[edit]

I've uploaded some [now] public-domain diagrams from the 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica Eleventh Edition. Each image has a detailed description...

...Could these be useful to this article? - Eric (talk) 10:56, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

TRANSLATE[edit]

Thank you for your time and energy! Could someone please translate the word "Architecture" into Ancient Egyptian for me? I have looked elsewhere on the internet but all I find are Hieroglyphs. I am looking for how to say it as an English speaker phonetically.

Vandalism removed[edit]

I have reverted to what seems to be the last good version of this article. I am going to watch this article, as it seems to be prone to being vandalized and left that way for long periods of time. Brianyoumans (talk) 19:43, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

pyramids[edit]

Pyramids are the tallest man made creation of the ancient world. They are a piece of architecture genius. [[Media:

Plagiarism?[edit]

I found the following in the New World Encylopedia:

as early as 2600 B.C.E., the architect Imhotep made use of stone columns whose surface was carved to reflect the organic form of bundled reeds
- https://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Column

This is almost word-for-word what is currently in the article. Who is plagiarizing whom? -- 165.204.84.11 (talk) 20:09, 25 September 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
