1971 carpet[edit]

Per "The Province" newspaper of 6 December 1971 (page 17), the event in Paris was played on carpet. I sourced it in the article. To quote "The Providence" on Dec 6 1971:

"Smith and Barthes now have two victories each. Ilie Nastase of Romania has one victory. Kodes one victory and one defeat, Graebner one defeat, and Richey and Franulovic two defeats. The double losses leave Richey and Franulovic little hope of capturing the $15,000 first prize in the tournament being played on a fast synthetic carpet at the Coubertin Stadium."

With that source we will need some strong denials from other sources. It also brings into quest the other changes made by an anon IP (and any clones) that have no sourcing and no edit summaries. Fyunck(click) (talk) 21:33, 25 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Layout[edit]

Qwerty284651 while some of your recent edits on the article are good and can be seen as improvements, there still some edits I don't really understand. Please, remember we don't need to list every champion because there are already lists for all winners in the same page. We have similar limits on Slams and Masters lists of champions. Sometimes your in good faith edits really mess up the layouts of articles/sections and I hope you can review the non-minor ones on a laptop before submitting. Editions played[edit]

The info in the table 'Editions played' doesn't reflect that in the table 'Most Years Qualified' in the reference https://www.nittoatpfinals.com/en/heritage/historical-stats

Anyone knows why?

Can we have surface designations?[edit]

It would make sense, since tournament doesn't have a permanent venue or surfaces.
