This brigade had a separate battallion Nr. 27 in 1916, which was called Königlich Preussisches Jägerbataillon Nr. 27. The number 28 was reserved for the Ausbildungs-Truppe-Lockstedt, which was the base of the Königlich Preussisches Jägerbataillon Nr. 27 as a training unit and it would have become the Königlich Preussisches Jägerbataillon Nr. 28, if the number of the recruits had increased.
