Requested move[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: not moved, with a few caveats: no prejudice against a new RM if another editor comes along and thinks it should be moved; Tito, if you change your mind you should feel free to move it without a RM (if you want) as you are the only contributor to the article and no one else has supported/opposed either title yet. I'm closing this for two reasons: first, there is no one who actually supports the move and, second, your arguments for having the article at the current title are sound. Teen Kanya (2012 film)3 Kanya – "Weird!" or "Strange" – most probably that's you are going to say after reading the next sentence. a) I am the article creator, b) I am going to to request a move against the title I have decided c) I am going to oppose the move too. Well, these are the reasons I am doing this RM a) I think the points I am going to give in support of this RM before opposing it are important too. b) readers of this article may question this c) someone in near future may move the article to the requested page without discussing, d) Well, personally I am not fully sure too!

Requesting a move because—
  • The requested spelling is used in Official website
  • The requested spelling is used in Film poster (see in infobox of article).

So, we should move the article. Tito Dutta (talk) 10:45, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose as proposer: a) The three RS (which include two leading newspapers) I have added in the article are using the current spelling. b) this is English language Wikipedia. When we write "3 Kanya" it pronounces "Three kanya", but actually the film's name is Teen Kanya. So the current title spelling should be okay. --Tito Dutta (talk) 10:45, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Moved as above[edit]

Tito Dutta and I discussed the issue on my talk page and are now of the opinion that 3 Kanya is the better title because of the natural disambiguation with the 1961 film Teen Kanya. That article now has a hatnote pointing here. As Tito noted, "teen" in the Bengali pronunciation of 3. --BDD (talk) 17:03, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Here is the permalink of that discussion. --Tito Dutta (talk) 01:46, 4 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
