This page should not be speedily deleted because... I am the social media liaison for this comedy troupe, comprised of four different celebrities and regular performing in Los Angeles, and famous enough to perform at venues such as festival supreme. I don't understand why I've been given a less than an hour to complete the page before it was marked for deletion--96.41.87.59 (talk) 14:55, 6 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because I have had less than an hour to work on it. This troupe is comprised of four celebrities, the troupe has been invited to participate in Festival Supreme, as noted. I don't understand why this happened so suddenly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Quirkinitup (talkcontribs) 14:57, 6 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Always best to compose an article offline before it goes live. Incidentally the fact that the troupe is composed of four "celebrities" does not mean th group is ipso facto notable.TheLongTone (talk) 15:01, 6 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There are plenty of pages on Wikipedia that are created by more than one person. I created the beginnings of the page as to allow the troupe members to edit and add history. I have linked the pages of the troupe members, and added the official site and the lineup of Festival Supreme to the references.Quirkinitup (talk) 15:38, 6 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You will need to do a great deal better in terms of references to establish notability. The groups own website means squat.TheLongTone (talk) 15:46, 6 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your attempt at help would be appreciated if your tone wasn't unnecessarily aggressive. I understand the group's site shouldn't be the only reference. The page is a work in progress, and I see it has been removed from speedy deletion. Thank you for your constructive criticisms, we will continue to work on the page.Quirkinitup (talk) 15:50, 6 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it is a work in progress and has been live for less than a few hours. I am allowing the cited troupe members a chance to edit and add history. I have already referenced and linked well-known, prestigious shows and festivals that they have participated in. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Quirkinitup (talkcontribs) 15:54, 6 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Under construction[edit]

This article has been nominated for speedy deletion twice, and disputed as noted above. I removed my own CSD and replaced it with an "under construction" tag to allow some time to find references that establish its notability of the group.

You (or somebody) will need to provide reliable, independent references that provide significant coverage about the group in order to show that it is notable. "Significant coverage" means that the references need to be much more than just listings showing what events they played at. It would be good to take a look at the description of Wikipedia's "General notability guideline", to understand what is required. Good luck with improving the article! --Gronk Oz (talk) 16:15, 6 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the notice and action, Gronk Oz. I think that will help give some time to establish notability. If not, perhaps we can put some of the information to the notable individuals' articles. Appable (talk) 18:03, 6 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

  • Support merging Clowntown City Limits into this article. I could not find references to any other work this group has done, so the two articles are almost identical anyway. There does not appear to be enough material to support two articles (at least, not that I could find).--Gronk Oz (talk) 15:09, 19 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support merge. Clearly PR hacks are working on this guff.TheLongTone (talk) 14:44, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support merging Clowntown City Limits into this article. There's really no reason to be rude, I'm the "PR hack" that supported merging the articles. Mark Fite of the troupe created the Clowntown City Limits page and I suggested we merge them until we had more reviews of that show. You're being unnecessarily confrontational and aggressive with your language.Quirkinitup (talk) 12:46, 21 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Quirkinitup, based on what you said above I have added a "connected contributor" tag at the top of this page to declare your role - hopefully that will clarify the situation so there is no more misunderstanding (I prefer to think of most disputes as misunderstandings, because that leaves open the possibility that it can be resolved and we can all get along).--Gronk Oz (talk) 14:48, 21 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Gronk Oz, I appreciate that. I am in charge of social media for the troupe and thus trying to help them create this page, so I'm more than willing to be shown as a connected contributor. Aforementioned comedians Jim Turner, Mark Fite, Dave Gruber, and Craig Anton are also attempting to contribute to this page and find additional reference sources. I am a new editor to Wikipedia, as I've only corrected grammatical errors on other pages before, and thus am having some issues with the HTML, etc. I would like help from a more experienced editor in merging the pages, which is why I proposed the merger. I have no issue with TheLongTone besides the issue he has with me, and he's taken a very adversarial tone on this talk page and his. I just would like help with the building of this page, I'm currently finding more reviews and history. Again, thanks.
