Мста / месть[edit]

The name of the vehicle, Мста, is a river in Russia and is what the vehicle (and the towed cannon upon which it is based) is named after. Mесть is Russian for 'revenge' and is not the correct name. It's in line with other Russian vehicle/weapon/system names: see 2S7 Pion (peony, a flower), S24 Tyulpan (tulip), 2S3 Akatsiya (acacia), 2S1 Gvozdika (carnation), 2S5 Giatsint (hyacinth), et cetera. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dziban303 (talk • contribs) 19:24, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
