Reactivated in August 1967[edit]

USS Liberty was attacked during the Six-Day War among Middle East countries on 8 June 1967.  During this incident, the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) was faced with a Zero-Sum Game decision to deploy Sixth Fleet's Naval Aircraft resources to help repel unknown attacking forces.

This event resulted in reactivating retired CDR Grace Hopper during August 1967.

As Assistant DCNO (Air) (1967), David C. Richardson (admiral) sponsored adapting a DIKW pyramid to help co-create a WWMCCS Sea Surveillance System with multiple CDC 1604 mainframes directed by an Automated Control Environment (ACE) using CDC 160 series minicomputers.

Navy Tactical Data System (NTDS) Evolution (1967-2021)[edit]

Seymour Cray designed a Sperry Rand Naval Tactical Data System (NTDS) AN/USQ-17 prototype.

Under contract with Unisys and Lockheed Martin RMS 1967-2021, the AN/UYQ-100 Undersea Warfare Decision support system (USW-DSS) emerged as its successor.

CDR Grace Hopper probably influenced Cray's design before the United States Navy's August 1967 reactivation after her initial United States Navy Reserve retirement.

AN/UYQ-100 enables Aegis Combat System supported by Lockheed Martin RMS EarthSea-Keeper (talk) 04:17, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
During 1978, Naval Reserve Systems Analysis Division (NRSAND} V-12 scored results of a Center for naval analyses NTDS simulation exercise to assess when this man-machine system becomes saturated with multiple attack vectors. The effort was hosted by Unisys in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Feedback from this experiment was to help specify Aegis Combat System performance metrics.
USS Vincennes (CG-49) on 3-July-1988 demonstrated NTDS simulation feedback was ineffective. EarthSea-Keeper (talk) 04:35, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

NVIDIA chip named after her too...[edit]

Don't forget Nvidia’s GH200 Grace Hopper superchips, named after her. 162.207.203.26 (talk) 06:33, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
