Controversy[edit]

  • In February 2015, on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, Saayani tweeted a picture where a female character was seen putting a condom over the Shivlinga.[7] Later the actress claimed that it was an act of hacking[8] and she also apologized for the post.[9]
  • On 4 January 2024 Saayani attended in a public meeting in Bardhaman and claimed that Mamata Banerjee founded the historic Curzon Gate as a part of development.[10] This statement was highly criticised by the opponents political leaders.[11]
