Shri.SKM.Maeilanandhan was born on 18th June 1945 in Erode District Saminathapuram village near Modakurichi . His wife Mrs. M. Kuttilakshmi and he has two sons.
Though he born into an indigent Agricultural family, he established a familiar group in Erode District called SKM Group of companies by his hard work and efforts. Besides being an eminent Entrepreneur, he involved himself in Social service for the past 30 years and till now.
He has been serving as the President for The World Community Service Centre since 1997 which was founded by the great Swamiji Thathvagnani Vethathiri Maharishi.

Choosing not to pursue a farming career, Maeilanandhan opened a small general store in Erode in 1966, which over the years, grew into a ₹ 50 billion business group,[1] with diverse activities covering poultry farming, Ayurveda medicines, fertilizer distribution, animal feeds and marketing[2] and composed of:

- SKM Animal Feeds and Foods India Pvt. Ltd.
- SKM Siddha and Ayurvedic Medicines India Pvt Ltd[5][6]
- SKM Health and Mind Welfare Charity Trust[5]
The business activities of SKM Group is presently handled by his two sons.
Shri. SKM Maeilanandhan has been serving as the President for The World Community Service Centre (WCSC) since 1997 which was founded by the great Swamiji Thathvagnani Vethathiri Maharishi.
WCSC is a Non-religious, Non-political and Non-profitable Spritual Organization without any discrimination by Sex, color, caste, creed, religion, language or nationality. Its international head quarters at No.26, Seaward road, Valmiki Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai - 600041.
Under the leadership of Shri SKM Maeilanandhan, WCSC activities for the public have been developed in multiple ways. So far around 65 Lakh people were benefitted in Yoga and Spiritual Education, particularly Meditation, i.e. Meditation 45,31,950 Kayakalpa Yoga 54,97,825 and Brahmagnana Course 2,66,430.
As the President of WCSC, he formed a Directorate, VISION for Wisdom as an Educational wing of the WCSC in order to impart Value Based Education, Yoga for Human Excellence for Holistic health. It has signed MoUs with many Universities. So far Certificate, Diploma, Degrees and Doctorate courses 2,23,569 students are benefited including 327 M.Phil. and Ph.D scholars.
SKY Yoga courses are given to 1,05,000 SSA Teachers, 10,800 Police personnel, 9,163 PET Teachers, 68,652 hostel students of BC and MBC through GOs. Free Yoga for 14 lakh Govt. School children and 1024 Headmasters. SKY Yoga trainings provided for 1,64,903 members of the SHGs under TNPVP in 1933 villages.
Through WCSC-VSP yoga and meditation are given freely to 1,21,819 villagers in 321 villages. De-addiction camps are conducted for alcoholics through a Special Scheme in villages. Chronic alcoholics were identified and they are sent to the nearest de addiction centre and the entire project is being carried out free of cost. Meditation and Yoga is taught to alcoholics. Through this VSP scheme so far 1500 alcoholics were overcame from drug addiction.
Under his leadership, around 394 trusts globally provides SKY Yoga trainings are affiliated to WCSC with 2005 sub-centres and 17,660 trained masters. In this, 210 trusts are functioning in its own building.
He is the Editor and Publisher of Anboli and Manavalakkalaignan Spiritual Monthly Magazines for the past 36 years.
He established the SKM Health and Mind Welfare Charity Trust in 1989 in Saminathapuram village to provide Free Medical Aid and Education for Poor Children. He adopted Two Dalit Colonies Gandhi Nagar and Rajiv Nagar at Saminathapuram, Erode in 1999, where 219 Dalit Families with a total of 701 people are living, with an aim to freely provide all Basic needs. Morning and Evening Tuitions, Food for 3 times, Uniform dresses, Bus facility provided for Dalit Children to make them graduated. So far 125 children were graduated successfully and 16 are in their college studies at present. A huge playground is constructed for indoor and outdoor games. Ministry of Child and Women Welfare awarded National Award for Child Welfare in the year 2010 with a cash prize of Rs.3 Lakh.
Technical training camps conducted for servicing of house hold electrical products such as Mixie, Grinder, Induction stove, Iron box and Table Fan. For motivating Self Employment for the women folk of Saminathapuram and nearby villages a free Tailoring institute with Tailoring machines is installed and 6 months courses are conducted. Many women have benefitted and many are undergoing the courses at free of cost. Later the Women are permitted to use the machines to earn their livelihood. Free Vocational training such as Computer and Beautician courses are also freely given to Dalit people.
Trust runs a Free Clinic with a MD doctor. Consultation and medicines provided to the Dalit people at free of cost. Health Camps, Eye Camps, Health Awareness programs are conducted regularly. During Pandemic Andrographis paniculata extract is distributed freely and periodically. Steel Garbage bins for Bio degradable waste and non-degradable waste have been placed in all the streets and also provided for each and every house in and around Saminathapuram. Garbage is collected daily using Battery trucks. Sanitation such as clean toilets constructed for 162 households, Trees are planted on both sides of the Roads in every street from Saminathapuram to Savadipalayam for a clean and green Environment (SwachhBharat). Clean Water Supply System is arranged by him to each and every streets in Savadipalayam, Thaneerpandal areas.
He is serving as the President of Erode District Consumer Protection Counsil for last 32 years. This counsil was awarded National Best Consumer Protection Counsil Award in the year 1993 by the Department of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution System, Government of India. CPC has its Affiliated Centres in all the 299 Village Panchayats and Consumer Clubs in Schools and Colleges in Erode District. More than 1000 consumer complaints were settled through the CPC. He is the Editor and Publisher of monthly magazine “Nugharvore Khaavalun” for 32 years which is very informative to consumers. Consumer Education is being taught at all educational institutions. Frequent seminars, consumer awareness exhibitions and workshops were conducted for the students. For consumer awareness he conducted Folk Dance, Drama, State Level Seminars, Training camps in Rural areas and Educational Institutions along with Hi-Tech Scrolling machines, each with 11 posters installed and 17 books were published.
He founded the trust National Welfare Awareness Movement in 1999 inaugurated by Bharat Ratna C.Subramaniam aimed to generate National Spirit and Patriotism among citizens. As the President of the National Welfare Awareness Movement many Voting awareness Campaigns, Seminars, Model voting booth, Contribution for Relief Funds and Books are published for National awareness. Erode District Collector has appreciated with a Certificate for his continuous involvement and support for Social Service on the Occasion of 77th Independence Day on 15.08.2023.
He founded The Periyar Nagar Park Mainntenance Trust in 1992 and constructed the Periyar Nagar Park with the permission of the Erode Corporation which is beautified with trees, flowering plants and a huge playground for children. He pioneered the Clean and Green Project coincidentally, with the same objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission. In 2009, he was awarded Sutruchulal Kavalar Award (Environment Protector Award) by Environment and Forest Department, Government of Tamilnadu.
He is the President of Tamil IlakkiyaPeravai Trust to promote Tamil Literature accredited with Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi. Every year through his organization Tamil Ilakkiya Peravai SKM Literary award with cash Rs.50,000 is awarded to Tamil scholars.
He is the President of Erode District Volleyball Association for the past 32 years. To encourage sports SKM rolling trophies with cash are awarded for Volleyball, Cricket, Football and Kabadi.
He has founded Sangamam Trust which has constructed a Gasifier crematorium for Rural public utilization.
