Suggestion[edit]

I suggest that the featured article/picture in this portal should be changed on a monthly basis. Maybe someone should suggest a new article/image to be featured and then, a voting session could be held for one week (before the next month). Thank you and please express your opinion. Acs4b 16:46, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

All of the featured article/picture are changed on a daily basis already. Chongkian (talk) 01:26, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Selected Articles[edit]

Regarding the selected articles section, I would really like to update that part. When can I do that? ĤéĺĺвοЎ (talk) 04:42, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

if an article or section requires updating, Be Bold! and help out anyway you can (Malaysia articles need all the help it can get!). -- Zafri (talk) 16:09, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, feel free to update the selected articles section. Chongkian (talk) 03:45, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Opening of the talk archives & deletion of Portal:Malaysia/Topics[edit]

i propose Portal:Malaysia/Topics to be deleted as Template:Malaysia topics already serves the same purpose and no article links to this template. also certain talk topics have been archived at /Archive_1 using the archiving cut and paste procedure. -- Zafri (talk) 16:09, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I do can see some redundancy there. Chongkian (talk) 01:28, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice[edit]

I've been sending out notifications to existing members of WikiProject Malaysia on the revamping of the project. If I have missed anyone out, my sincere apologies. The first stage of the revamping would be updating the members list and collecting ideas/feedback.

  • For existing members, please confirm yourselves in the member list here. The list would then be transcluded to the current members list.
  • For those who are interested in this project, whether you're from Malaysia or not, we would love your contributions. Please add yourselves to the members list mentioned above.
  • We're collecting suggestions/feedback on this project. It has been stagnant for a while and I think that it's time it moves forward. To propose any suggestions, give comments or feedback, please write it here.

In conclusion, I'll be sending regular updates to the respective talk pages. If there's any questions, please leave them in the Ideas and feedback page or on my talk page. Cheers and happy editing, BejinhanTalk 07:01, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the work ^_^ Chongkian (talk) 03:46, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Update[edit]

Here's a brief update on the latest... :-

  • I've transcluded the new members list to the prior existing members list. There's a redirect on the new members list page to the actual members list.
  • I've compiled the list of feedback given here and placed them on a plan page. Please do go and take a look at them. For the suggestions to be carried out, we need volunteers. At the bottom of the plan page, there is a Volunteer section. Please add your name and include which area you would like to volunteer in.

If you have any questions or comments please leave them here. On behalf of WikiProject Malaysia, BejinhanTalk 07:01, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Per the WikiProject Malaysia's Plan page, I've "jumpstart" the Collaboration of the Month's project page. Please head over there to vote/comment or submit new nominees. We need your help to make this a success! On behalf of WikiProject Malaysia, BejinhanTalk 03:16, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

1975 AIA building hostage crisis[edit]

Hello, my friends: A group of us are working on clearing the backlog at http://wiki.alquds.edu/?query=Category:Articles_lacking_sources_from_October_2006. The article in the above header has been without sources for the past four years and may be removed if none are added. I wonder if you can help do so. Sincerely, and all the best to you, GeorgeLouis (talk) 20:01, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notice from the Portals WikiProject[edit]

WikiProject Portals is back!

The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.

As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.

There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.

Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.

And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.

From your friendly neighborhood Portals WikiProject. Hope to see you there. Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   07:36, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

City name disambiguation[edit]

There is ongoing discussion at Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (geographic names) concerning the disambiguation of placenames. The default standard in most countries is assumed to be City, Country, as in Cityname, Malaysia. It seems that this isn't currently happening in Malaysia, however, as we have titles like Bukit Tinggi, Pahang (not Bukit Tinggi, Malaysia) and Maran (town) (not Maran, Malaysia.) Is there some kind of local guideline in this WikiProject that we should be aware of? 162 etc. (talk) 16:48, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@162 etc.: I do not believe we have a local guideline, it is a small Wikiproject. Regarding the two examples above, they follow general disambiguation principles. Bukit Tinggi is not a unique name within Malaysia, and many Malaysian towns such as Maran share names with other levels of administration. CMD (talk) 17:02, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
