pharmaceutical-business-review.com: Linksearch en (insource) - meta - de - fr - simple - wikt:en - wikt:frSpamcheckMER-C X-wikigs • Reports: Links on en - COIBot - COIBot-Local • Discussions: tracked - advanced - RSN • COIBot-Link, Local, & XWiki Reports - Wikipedia: en - fr - de • Google: searchmeta • Domain: domaintoolsAboutUs.com This is a business news website for the pharmaceutical industry owned by progressive digital media and part of the Business Review group of websites. There is absolutely no reason why this should be black listed. The content is unique and written by industry analysts in house, whence the reason why it appears at the top of all major search engines for phrases like "pharmaceutical business", "pharmaceutical business news", "pharmaceutical industry reports" etc.Aepotter (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic. The actual rule is '-business-review.com\b', see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Spam/2010_Archive_Apr_1#cleantechnology-business-review.com. --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:21, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Seems its related to a Massive amount of spam (linked above). Underststand that being "top of all major search engines", isnt a sign of quality or reliability, as much as a sign of "marketing and SEO". It appears that Progressive Digital Media Group Plc (on the website in question) is a Online Marketing Company, not a news organization[1][2]. Infact, pharmaceutical-business-review.com is, as with all the "-business-review.com" sites are of the same owner. --Hu12 (talk) 15:19, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the spam is connected to TMN (the mutual net)but not the Business Review which is also owned by progressive digital media http://wiki.alquds.edu/?query=Progressive_Digital_Media. The chairman Mike Danson also owns the magazine "The New Statesman" so unless you think The New Statesman are spammers I think you should also consider that the Business Review platforms are also completely separate from TMN and therefore the spam. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/25198e6e-758d-11de-9ed5-00144feabdc0.html#axzz1NRXDwWPX — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aepotter (talkcontribs) 08:01, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Aepotter, note that we defined the actions of the many accounts who added the many links of *-business-review.com as spam - unfortunately, very good sites still hire SEO companies to improve their chances to be found on internet, resulting in the site being spammed throughout, while the site is actually a good site. That indeed results in problems here, as the inappropriate linking is unstoppable via blocking accounts or protecting pages - the spam-blacklist is then the last resort. May I ask you to consider whitelisting specific links for specific pages on our whitelist? --Dirk Beetstra T C 08:07, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Dirk, Don't worry about it then, I am very new to this. I actually work for the Pharmaceutical Business Review and I was trying to write an article about us, not for any marketing gain I should add. I don't think I have the authority to create one about the whole of the Business Review! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aepotter (talkcontribs) 08:19, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you could start by writing this article (e.g. in userspace - User:Aepotter/Pharmaceutical Business Review) and get it as far as possible. If you can show that article and if it is conform our policies and guidelines, then a whitelist request for specific links for that article would be easy. You may want to be aware of the conflict of interest guideline though (but that guideline does in no means disallow you to edit and create an article ..). Happy editing. --Dirk Beetstra T C 08:22, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an up-to-date database of crop circle events using google maps. It is free and pure factual and a valuable addition to the article on crop circles. The page is pure data, without any judgements or opinions, and is in itself an encyclopedia. Please explain why this page is blacklisted. Bert Janssen (talk) 10:14, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Typically, we do not remove domains from the spam blacklist in response to site-owners' requests (cropcirclesandmore.com Registrant: Bert Janssen) or those who where involved in spamming them (see Mass Multi-wiki Spamming case). Instead, we de-blacklist sites when trusted, high-volume editors request the use of blacklisted links because of their encyclopedic value in support of our encyclopedia pages. There appears to be a significant Long term issue which includes Spamming, edit-warring123 for inclusion of your link (and book) in the article Crop circle (which lead to a block[3]). This was also repeated in roughly 19 other wikimedia projects. Additionaly, Please take a look at the specific requirements of our External Links and Reliable Sources guidelines. I don't think this link meets either guideline. Equally Wikipedia is not a place to to promote your site. Unfortunatly this request is no Declined--Hu12 (talk) 14:15, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
