Ehsan Ul Haq Bajwa (Urdu: احسان الحق باجوہ; born 4 March 1972) is a Pakistani politician and businessman who had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 till August 2023.[1] Previously he was a Member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, from May 2013 to May 2018.[2] He owns dozens of companies abroad, including Big Crane General Transport LLC in UAE. He owns more than 32,000 acres of agricultural land in Pakistan. He is the richest parliamentarian of Pakistan and a giant businessman.[3] He also won with the highest lead and vote margin in General Elections in 2018 and became Member of National Assembly.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

He was born in Dahranwala in Bahawalnagar District on 4 March 1972 to Haji Abdul Sattar, a Deputy superintendent in Police, businessman and an agriculturist.[2]

He received a Diploma in Associate Engineering from Government College of Technology, Bahawalpur in 1992.[2]

Business career[edit]

He is a businessman and an agriculturist who operates in Dubai. He owns dozens of companies worldwide, including Big Crane General Transport LLC, which has a net worth of billions of AED. He also owns more than 32,000 acres of agricultural land in Pakistan. In 2020, he was named as the richest parliamentarian of Pakistan, with over 50 billion PKR in assets, most of which are abroad.[3]

Political Party Affiliation[edit]

He belongs to Pakistan Muslim League (N), a mainstream right-wing political party in Pakistan.[1]

General Elections 2013[edit]

He started his political career in 2013, when he contested the General Elections on the seat of Provincial Assembly of Punjab.[2]

In 2013, he contested the election of Provincial Assembly seat PP-281 and was elected as MPA from Chishtian, Bahawalnagar with a total of 36,704 votes.[2]

He served as the Chairman of Committee on Government Assurances from 2013 to 2018.[2]

General Elections 2018[edit]

In General Elections 2018, he contested the election of National Assembly NA-168 (Chishtian) and was elected as MNA with the highest lead and vote margin of Pakistan, with a total of 124,218 votes. He defeated Fatima Tahir Cheema, a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).[1]

He became the President of Gulf Region of PMLN in 2020.

In 2023, he also became Coordinator UAE for International Affairs of PMLN.[4]

General Elections 2024[edit]

In General Elections 2024, he once again contested the election of National Assembly NA-162 (Chishtian) and was elected as MNA with a high lead and vote margin, with a total of 114,284 votes. He defeated Khalil Ahmed Arrain, a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).[5]
