| Description |
English: Shakespeare House, building housing the w:United States Information Service library, in Johannesburg, South Africa. I took this photo while visiting relatives in Johannesburg in July 1965. I went to the USIS library often to read the New York Times (a week or so late) The NY Times was not sold in South Africa then due to censorship. On weekday afternoons, the library was filled with black teenagers doing school work and it was hard to find a seat.
