Die Werktätigen des volkseigenen Fräsmaschinenwerkes "Fritz Heckert" in Chemnitz kämpfen um fortschrittliche Normen.
Bis zum 1. Mai 1953 wollen die Arbeiter des VEB WMW in Chemnitz für alle Arbeiten technisch begründete Normen schaffen und einführen. Zusammen mit den Technologen und Normenbearbeitern wurden anhand von Zeitmessungen zeitnormative- das sind Mittelwerte für die sich immer wiederholenden mit der Hand durchgeführten Arbeiten aufgestellt und mit der Zeitnormativtabelle die technisch begründete Normzeit an den einzelnen Maschinen errechnet. Jeder Arbeiter liest die neue Normzeit von der grünen Normkarte ab auf der genau vorgeschrieben sind: die Bearbeitungsmaschine, die Fertigungstechnik, jeder einzelne Arbeitsgang mit den technisch begründeten Normzeiten, die zu verwendenden Werkzeuge, Vorrichtungen usw.

UBz: Auf der Grundlage der Normative und der technologischen Werte konnten nun die Normkarten für die verschiedenen Arbeitsgänge angelegt werden. (v.l.n.r.) Meister Grosser, Normenbearbeiter Neubert, Technologe Steger und der Horizontalbohrer Schachoff bei der Erläuterung und Überprüfung der Normkarte.
