Doron Bergerbest-Eilon (born September 28, 1959) is a renowned Homeland Security expert with over 45 years of combined public and private sector experience in a wide range of relevant fields. He is the former Director of the Security and Protection Division of the Israel Security Agency (ISA)[1] and Israel’s most senior ranking anti-terrorism official, a position equivalent to the rank of Major General.[2][3]

Public Sector Career[edit]

After completing his military service, Bergerbest-Eilon began his public sector career at Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel where he quickly advanced through the ranks. He then joined the Israel Security Agency (ISA),where he served for over two decades.[4] During this time, he held various senior-ranking positions, including Director of Training, Director of the Security, Intelligence, and Operations Unit, and Director of the Security Department.

He also served as the Counselor and Chief Security Officer for the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC and as the Director of Security for ISA Operations in Africa and Asia.[5]

At ASERO Worldwide, Ltd.[edit]

Upon his retirement from public service in 2005, Bergerbest-Eilon founded ASERO Worldwide, Ltd.[6] in partnership with APCO Worldwide, Ltd. ASERO is a boutique Homeland Security consulting and training company that offers tailor-made services to multinational corporations and government entities worldwide.[7][8]

Since its establishment, ASERO has undertaken numerous large-scale projects in collaboration with distinguished public and private sector clients in countries such as the United States, Canada, and Singapore, among others. In 2010, Bergerbest-Eilon acquired full ownership of ASERO, making it an independent entity.[9]

At Aperio Systems[edit]

In 2016, he co-founded Aperio Systems, a company focused on the OT paradigm in cyber defense and data hygiene.[10][11] Aperio Systems offers solutions centered around industrial data integrity. Its platform autonomously verifies operational data on a large scale, aiming to enhance data precision. This enhanced accuracy subsequently aids in fostering improved operational and business decisions grounded in trustworthy and dependable data. Since the company's inception in 2016, Bergerbest-Eilon has also served on its board.[12]

Private Sector Career and Other Endeavors[edit]

In addition to his work with ASERO, Bergerbest-Eilon has held various positions. He has served as the Consulate General for the Republic of Palau in Israel since 2015.[13] Since 2006, he has been a member of the Security Advisory Board at Pictet Asset Management, contributing to the fund's thematic investing initiatives.

Personal Life[edit]

Bergerbest-Eilon currently resides in the Sharon region of Israel with his partner of over 20 years. He has five children.

Recognition and Awards[edit]

In May 2005, Bergerbest-Eilon was awarded the Director's Recognition Award, the highest commendation from the United States Secret Service Director.[14]

Bergerbest-Eilon has actively contributed to the academic and advisory spheres while serving on the board of governors of Haifa University in Israel, his alma mater, furthering his commitment to education and research.[15]
